A NEW children’s book by a Camelsdale author had a successful launch event.

Howard of Pawsland, by Mark Taylor, is a new release by Camelsdale publisher Middleton Press.

The launch at Haslewey Community Centre was attended by many families.

There was a reading of the book, which is aimed at four to eight year olds.

Children enjoyed having their faces painted and getting dog style balloon models made for them.

There were games, colouring in, drinks and paw topped cupcakes. The real Howard, a bearded collie owned by Mark, made an appearance, as did a Howard mascot.
