Alton’s Triple fff Brewery is celebrating two notable achievements.
In the past few weeks the brewery, established in 1997, has won two of the most prestigious industry awards for one of its beers.
Triple fff’s Pressed Rat and Warthog has taken gold medals in the Society of Independent Breweries (SIBA) London and South East competition as well as being named the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) London and South East Regional Champion Beer of Britain.
Triple fff managing director Xen Gladstone said: “We are thrilled to win these competitions. At SIBA we won all dark session beers – beating all the porters, stouts and milds included, which is huge.
“To follow up with a CAMRA award, knowing how exacting they are, is ‘wow’!”
Founder and head brewer Graham Trott added: “Pressed Rat actually won the Best Mild in the whole country in 2002 at the Great British Beer Festival, and we are delighted to see it back in winning ways and with a chance of being back on the ‘Champions’ Bar’.”
