Nando's has submitted planning permission for its familiar bright red illuminated signage at its new Brightwells Yard restaurant.
The application reveals the South African peri-peri chicken chain’s Farnham outlet will be positioned in unit ‘RU5’, just three doors down from the REEL Cinema, facing the new town park and Coppa Club restaurant in Brightwell House.
Waverley Borough Council is expected to determine the application by the end of February.
No opening date has been set, but the Herald understands more units are expected to open from April onwards.
Floor plans submitted to Waverley on behalf of Nando's suggest the restaurant will be spread across two levels, seating between 40 and 50 people on each.
There will be outdoor seating too, with a further 24 'external covers' bringing the restaurant’s total to 115 seats.
The plans also include spaces for Nando's familiar open kitchen and grill, freezer space, toilets, and staff areas.
Once open, Brightwells Yard will revitalise the economy of the eastern part of Farnham town centre with a 25-unit shopping centre, six-screen cinema, cafés, bars, restaurants, open space, and parking as well as 239 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments.
No opening dates have yet been set, apart from REEL Cinema which will open its doors on Friday, February 2.
