A seven-year-old boy suffered minor head injuries after being struck by a ball bearing in a despicable incident at Greatham’s new play area.
Two women in their 40s were also struck with one suffering redness and back swelling following the incident around 3.35pm yesterday (Wednesday, May 29).
Police have carried out enquires in the village and have also launched an appeal for witnesses and information.
It’s unclear what device was used to fire the ball bearings, but there were similar incidents in January in Petersfield and Bucks Horn Oak in which a café and lorry were respectively damaged.
“Since this was reported to us, officers have been carrying out various enquiries and would like to speak with any potential witnesses who may be able to help with the investigation,” said a spokesperson for East Hampshire Police.
