Hampshire County Council has applied to the government to make Whitehill & Bordon an Investment Zone.
County council leader Cllr Rob Humby said: “Becoming an Investment Zone would bring a real economic boost, with lower taxes for business rates and employee earnings, stamp duty relief and tax relief on plant and machinery.
“Additionally, planning rules for both commercial and residential development would be streamlined to reduce unnecessary delays. These advantages would help significantly to create jobs and deliver new homes.”
Whitehill, Bordon and Lindford county councillor Andy Tree added: “I very much support the application to make Whitehill & Bordon an investment zone. I particularly thank Cllr Humby for consulting for my views as local councillor, and he has my full support.
“There is no guarantee of success but it is worth pushing for it and it is a good example of working together.”
